You’ve heard tons of bloggers say it and you most likely will never heard the end of it – affiliate marketing is one of the easiest ways to make passive income as a blogger.
If you’re an avid reader of my posts you’d know that before I started blogging I did tons of research. And by tons, I mean maybe about 3 months worth. So yeah – the information overload was real. I had pages and pages of notes and was this close to frying my brain. But through that research the one thing my brain did hold onto was the term “affiliate marketing.”
I knew bloggers raved about affiliate marketing, and judging by income reports it was obvious as to why – most bloggers make the majority of their income from affiliate marketing, and I wanted in.
I started taking baby steps towards launching my blog back in November of 2017, and by January I was confident enough to actually start promoting it. I joined a ton of affiliate programs and sprinkled my affiliate links throughout my posts but that didn’t quite work for me.
I was back at square one.
I quickly realized however that while I knew what affiliate marketing was and how high the potential was to make money from it, the information I was lacking was how to make that money.
I had done my research, joined affiliate networks, and became an affiliate for a few products that I loved myself, but I wasn’t sure exactly how to promote those products to my audience in a successful way.
It wasn’t until I came across an ebook that had the answer I had been waiting for. This book went step-by-step through the exact process of making your first affiliate sale using Pinterest, and it was a lifesaver.
In less than 24 hours I had made my first affiliate sale using Pinterest!
It was so crazy to think that I had been trying and failing to make affiliate sales, yet once I tried this one strategy I made an affiliate sale in less than 24 hours.
I quickly realized that in order to be successful, I have to take advice from those who are already successful, so buying that ebook really paid off.

Affiliate Marketing in a Nutshell
I’m not going to go into too much detail about affiliate marketing because I already wrote an entire post on it, which you can read here: The Beginner’s Guide to Affiliate Marketing.
But, in a nutshell, affiliate marketing is when you promote someone else’s product or service. What’s so great about this is:
- You don’t have to take the time to create a product yourself
- You’re helping out your readers by showing them products that you think will really be beneficial to them
Simply find some products you love and trust, join affiliate programs for those products, and then you’ll be able to promote those products to your readers so they can reap the same benefits from those products that you did.
Before you fall too in love with affiliate marketing though, it’s vital that you start your own blog first. Some companies won’t accept you into their affiliate program unless they can see that you have your own blog first, plus having a blog just gives you another place to promote your affiliate links. So, make sure you get started with SiteGround before trying to join affiliate programs!
Promoting Your Affiliate Links on Pinterest
Now that you have your blog all set up and have joined some affiliate programs, it’s time to start promoting those products using the special links given to you.
In my Beginner’s Guide to Affiliate Marketing I give you 5 different ways you can promote your affiliate links, but one of those 5 ways really worked the best for me, and it’s actually how I made my very first affiliate sale in less than 24 hours!
Like I mentioned earlier when I first started to promote products to my audience I thought that I could just add some links to my posts and then be done with it. That was definitely not the case though.
After some time I had made exactly zero affiliate sales and I realized that to make this work I had to have an actual strategy.
That’s when I came across someone else’s affiliate link and all my questions were answered.
I found out about the ebook “How to Make Your First Affiliate Sale in 24 Hours Using Pinterest” by another blogger who swore by the strategy used in this book.
This ebook promised to give me the inside scoop on the exact strategy I’d have to use to make my first affiliate sale on Pinterest – something I had never even thought of doing before – and the best part: it was only $25.
I quickly whipped out my credit card and purchased the ebook, and I’m not kidding when I say I had finished reading it within the next hour.
I honestly couldn’t get enough! Here it was in front of me: the exact steps I would have to take to make my first affiliate sale using Pinterest; something so many other people knew but didn’t want to share.
I knew if I wanted to see almost instant results (like the book promised) I’d have to get to work immediately, so that’s exactly what I did.
How I Used This Strategy to Make My First Affiliate Sale in Less Than 24 Hours
Like I mentioned earlier, I’m a huge note taker when it comes to researching, and this ebook was no different.
There was so much valuable information written within the book’s pages (you could tell by how many pages of notes I had taken) that I couldn’t wait to get started.
I followed the strategy step-by-step and started promoting a product I was an affiliate for that night. The next morning I woke up to find I had already made a sale using that affiliate link! Less than 24 hours later!
I couldn’t contain my excitement. I knew that if the strategy in that ebook worked for me, it would work for my readers as well, so that’s why I immediately became an affiliate for this ebook.
I signed up for a free account with SendOwl and through this website I was able to become an affiliate for this ebook. I also found out that manyyyy other bloggers use this site to manage their own affiliates, so creating an account with them was a no brainer.
Setting Up Your Pinterest Account
Of course in order to make affiliate sales on Pinterest it’s important that you have a Pinterest account all set up and ready to go.
You want to make sure that your account is as optimized as possible so your account will gain more traction, and the best (and easiest) way of doing that is by enabling Rich Pins.
Rich Pins include more information on them than a normal pin, and they also display your website name and icon and will direct people straight to your blog which means, you guessed it, more traffic!
Setting up Rich Pins takes less than 5 minutes, so I highly suggest doing it. Find out how to do so by clicking the link below:
By enabling rich pins and pairing it with some other strategies such as using keyword-rich pin descriptions and board titles and re-pinning your pins into group boards you’re a part of, your Pinterest (and your pins themselves) will begin to gain more traction and reach more people.
And, of course, more traction on Pinterest means a higher chance of making affiliate sales on it!
Using Tailwind to Increase Sales
I also highly recommend signing up for an account with Tailwind if you’d like your pins to reach a whole new audience you wouldn’t get to reach without it.
For more information on how exactly Tailwind works you can read my post here: Your Ultimate Guide to Tailwind: A Foolproof Way to Increase Your Audience.
But, just for a general overview, Tailwind pins for you so you can stay active on Pinterest all day every day and do minimal to no work.
It’s no secret that Pinterest accounts that stay active gain more traction and followers, and that’s exactly what you’ll need if you want to successfully make affiliate sales on Pinterest.
In addition to staying active though, Tailwind has these great things called tribes. You can’t join tribes through Pinterest, you must join them through Tailwind, and they’re sort of like Pinterest group boards. What makes them so awesome though is that in order to promote your own pins in these tribes, you must repin other pins within that tribe.
Since everyone in that tribe is required to pin other pins, you have more of a chance of someone re-pinning your pin that has the affiliate link in it! Hello commission!
It’s Time to Make Money
Guys, I honestly would not be promoting this ebook if I didn’t see the immense power it has when it comes to making affiliate sales.
Using this strategy I was able to make my very first affiliate sale in less than 24 hours, and I have a feeling my sales aren’t going to stop there.
I’m already thinking about the next product I can promote using this strategy, and I can’t stress enough how excited I am to finally have all my hard work paying off!
If you’ve been struggling with affiliate marketing and are about ready to give up, I highly suggest purchasing this ebook. What’s better than putting in a bit of work in the beginning to implement a strategy (and it’s super easy work by the way, I promise) and then reaping the benefits of passive income for days, months, maybe even years later? Not many things, I know!
Let me know in the comments below if you have any questions about the ebook or affiliate marketing. And, if you purchase the ebook let me know all about your experience with making affiliate sales! There aren’t many greater feelings than waking up one morning and finding out you made money while you were sleeping!
